Re: upload my txp site?

Hi Mary,

Thanks for the reply. Yes that all makes perfect sense.

I got my local copy running again, copied config.php and amended the line to match what you said and uploaded it as config live.php and finally uploaded it and renamed it to config.php on the live server.

Unfortunatley it still doesnt work. I get this message now:

Warning: include(\filer01\soho\boudaki.com\www.boudaki.com\web\content\textpattern\textpattern/publish.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in \\filer01\soho\boudaki.com\www.boudaki.com\web\content\index.php on line 27

Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening ‘\filer01\soho\boudaki.com\www.boudaki.com\web\content\textpattern\textpattern/publish.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.;C:\php5\pear’) in \\filer01\soho\boudaki.com\www.boudaki.com\web\content\index.php on line 27

Fatal error: Call to undefined function textpattern() in \\filer01\soho\boudaki.com\www.boudaki.com\web\content\index.php on line 28

I think ive got a path wrong somewhere. Locally to get to the index.php file i have to go:
c:/wamp/www/textpattern/textpattern/index.php.

On my server in the content folder i have these files: files, images, textpattern,history.txt,index.php, readme.txt, thumbs.db, favicon.ico.

I cant work it out

Re: upload my txp site?

Question: does your “textpattern” folder have files and folders inside it (“include”, “lang”, “lib”, etc)?

Re: upload my txp site?

Okay, try that double-slash

$txpcfg['txpath'] = '\\filer01\soho\boudaki.com\www.boudaki.com\web\content\textpattern';

That’s odd for it to have two slashes though. Did your host provide you with any documentation as to what your site’s root path should be?

Re: upload my txp site?

No, that just throws this up unfortunatley:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in \\filer01\soho\boudaki.com\www.boudaki.com\web\content\textpattern\config.php on line 8

I think theres something intrinsically wrong with what im doing. I think there could be something im completley missing.

I have this in my temp folder in admin advanced prefs:

\filer01\soho\boudaki.com\www.boudaki.com\web\content\textpattern\tmp

and this in file upload path:

\filer01\soho\boudaki.com\www.boudaki.com\web\content\files

are they both right?

also my config file looks like this( ive just taken the username and pass out)

<?php
$txpcfg[‘db’] = ‘boudaki’;
$txpcfg[‘user’] = ‘’;
$txpcfg[‘pass’] = ‘’;
$txpcfg[‘host’] = ‘localhost’;
$txpcfg[‘table_prefix’] = ‘’;
$txpcfg[‘txpath’] = ‘\web\content\filer01\soho\boudaki.com\www.boudaki.com\web\content\textpattern’
$txpcfg[‘dbcharset’] = ‘utf8’;
?> is that right? ive tried it both with and without \web\content as thats what my host says that what the path is. Neither work

Re: upload my txp site?

The problem is that we can’t guess what your path is.

Copy, paste this into a text editor and upload it to your web space as phpinfo.php:
<code><?php

phpinfo();

?> </code>

Then run it and look for: DOCUMENT_ROOT /var/www/mydomain

This will be the path to your web space.

Re: upload my txp site?

Your temp/images/files folder won’t affect much. The “host” line is to do with your database, and is likely correct (most of the time it should be “localhost”). It is the value of config.php we need to get straight first. Try Bert’s suggestion and see what you get back.

Re: upload my txp site?

HI there,

Thanks for the replies.

Right i treid that but unfortuantley i can only find doc_root and the values for that locally and master are “no value”?!?

Could you have a look:

http://www.boudaki.com/phpinfo.php

also there are a few things:

My full server path to textpattern is:

\\filer01\soho\boudaki.com\www.boudaki.com\web\content\textpattern

I got this from setting up a new install of textpattern on my server which gave me this info at the start of the install.

I tried this path in config.php and changed it also at advaned prefs in admin and re-uploaded but the same messages came up again.

I moved htaccess ages ago when i found out i was using messy urls. Ive just replaced it on my server with the one i got in the new txp download.

EDIT: IN the quest to solve this problem i once again phoned my hosting company-again- and got an operator who told me that windows hosting is asp based and wouldnt support my php and mysql languages! I hope this is right as it will solve my problem! Just waiting for them to swap me a to a linux account.

Thanks for your trying to help me out guys i really appreciate it.

Re: upload my txp site?

Ok,

So what could anyone answer me this? If i could get a normal install of textpattern running on my server then i could just copy and paste all my pages, styles and forms in to it. There wouldnt be any problems doing that would there?

Re: upload my txp site?

…windows hosting is asp based and wouldnt support my php and mysql languages!

Uh, if that was true, your PHP info page wouldn’t work. PHP can and does run on Windows. Not every Windows host has it available, but your host definitely does.

Now, I prefer Linux hosting myself, but that’s not to say it would necessarily solve the strange problem you’re having. But, you could give it a shot, anyway.
