Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

Seems correct to me… if you post the (wrong) output you are receiving, maybe that will give us a clue what could be wrong.
And a tiny tip: you may leave out start=“1” in the first line, since the default value for start is “1”.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

It’s fine now. I had m instead of j.

It would be great to put a format example in with the documentation. I wasn’t sure exactly what the php datetime functionality was at first.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

Hello,
I’ve recently installed this plugin and it is working really well. I do have one question. I’m using it for a community calendar of events and many people can add events. My problem is they tend to add lots of info in “Other Info” and so you end up needing to scroll to see more than one event.

Is it possible to link to the “Other info” instead of showing it directly in the calendar? If so can someone explain to me how to do this?
I believe I saw an example in here where the details showed on mouseover.. either way would be good.

Thanks in advance for any tips!

I did. Here.
You can have a look in the code, I used a very simple CSS code to achieve that.

In fact there are probably many other interresting ways to do what you want to do…

(are you French ? Because of you name… If yes it would be easier for me to help you in the french section as it is not really a plugin issue but a styling matter).

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

Is there a way to output jmc_events to individual articles with exerpts?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

long time no see all…

expect an update shortly that is nicer to use ;)

mattmikulla: with exerpts? might need to look at how the excerpt is created… if it can be called it can be shown.

Hey all. I use this plugin at http://www.artatthearcade.com/ and it rocks. Can’t wait to see more evolution.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

Tidying up and standardising the code so that it more matches the textpattern method. Additionally, it will also have further support for the ubiquitous microformats.

Current “live” WIP: thelyricalmadmen.com/txp/gigs/past-gigs (check it out with either the inspired by mr hicks ;) javascript microformats bookmarklet or the firefox tails plugin).

Any additional requests?

my somewhat over-demanding wishlist is this:
  • RSS
  • enable images for events, categories & venues
integration with upm_image would be pretty cool ;)
  • nice up the buttons
some styling to make navigating the events/categories/venues interface a bit more intuitive
  • enable unique articles instead of single list page
and your bonus ball – clean semantic URLs!
  • include in default Txp site-search
  • google/yahoo map URL field for Venue
think this would be a pretty valuable compliment to the venue URL field
  • custom fields
for example, one day twould be nice to be able to throw a flickr tag in there to pull in some photos after the event

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

hehehe – just a little overdemanding ;)

  • RSS : Problem with RSS as it sits is that the header for a page that is served up cannot be overridden – thus I can’t declare it to be one locally. What you might want to do is sit a hCalendar parser over it? Anyone knows any other method I’m all ears, but I don’t know that it can be achieved internally.
  • Images : would you consider best solution to be linked to the image manager within TXP and using upm_image or an additional feature. I’m sitting with the former as a solution, since it can be more easily integrated (?), but not sure.
  • Buttons : Thoughts + comments on what you’d like to see welcome++
  • Unique Articles : Not too sure what you’re meaning here. Individual events + venues or ? Perhaps the use of urls to refer to event or location? That could be a good one. Still want to tidy up the listing of venues using option groups.
  • txp Site Search : again if someone has any ideas how to hook it in. Don’t want it as an ugly hack :\
  • google/yahoo map url field : custom field?
  • custome fields : definitely looking at them

Keep ‘em coming.
