Re: upload my txp site?
Upload all the files: index.php,/files,/images,/.htacess,/textpattern/
Installation
Extract the files to your site (in the web root, or choose a subdirectory). The top-level index.php should reside in this directory, as should the /textpattern/ directory.Create, or establish the existence of, a working mysql database, load /textpattern/setup/ (or /subpath/textpattern/setup/ ) in a browser, and follow the directions.

You need to upload the folders textpattern, images and files as well the files index.php and .htaccess.
Take a look at the TextBook

Re: upload my txp site?
In your /texpattern/config.php, did you change this: <code>$txpcfg[‘txpath’]</code>
Also in the admin section – advanced preferences, adjust:
Temporary directory path
File directory path

Re: upload my txp site?
Well from your error message, I’m just guessing:
In /textpattern/config.php, the line should be:
$txpcfg[‘txpath’] = ‘\filer01\soho\boudaki.com\www.boudaki.com\web\content\textpattern’;
Also in the admin section – advanced preferences, adjust:
Temp folder = \filer01\soho\boudaki.com\www.boudaki.com\web\content\textpattern\tmp
File Upload Path = \filer01\soho\boudaki.com\www.boudaki.com\web\content\files
Now I don’t know if it should be ‘\’ or ‘/’ in the file paths, are you on a Windows host?

Re: upload my txp site?
Yes i am on a windows host. ive just done those things you suggested but it doesnt seem to have wokred. Ive re-uploaded the site. In fact when itry to go back to my txp interface locally its gone! IM worried! I have a backup luckily. It just says done in the status bar but no admin interface!
Is this because i changed the paths that i cant get back to it locally?
Also you said you didnt know which way round the slahes were…when i go to the boudaki.com address this comes up:
Warning: Unexpected character in input: ‘\’ (ASCII=92) state=1 in \\filer01\soho\boudaki.com\www.boudaki.com\web\content\textpattern\config.php on line 7
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in \\filer01\soho\boudaki.com\www.boudaki.com\web\content\textpattern\config.php on line 7
does it mean the slashes should be round the other way? And if so could you tell me how i can change this without access to my admin side?
Again, thanks for your help!

Re: upload my txp site?
Maybe you need two slashes in front of filer01, like:
$txpcfg[‘txpath’] = ’\\filer01\soho\boudaki.com\www.boudaki.com\web\content\textpattern’;
Sorry, I’ve never hosted on a Windows host, even though I do some development on my Windows laptop.

Re: upload my txp site?
Here’s what I think is happening: you got Textpattern installed and running locally. Then your FTPed all these files to your live server, changing config.php to match the live server. Now you’re expecting to use that copy of config.php with your local copy, and of course, that doesn’t work and now has got you confused. So, let’s back up.
First, restore your local copy to working order. Open up C:\wamp\www\textpattern\textpattern\config.php, and change the following line to match:
$txpcfg['txpath'] = 'C:\wamp\www\textpattern';
Now you should be able to access http://localhost/textattern/textpattern to login.
Now, you have already uploaded your Txp database from your local copy, as well as your Txp files, right? Next, make a copy of C:\wamp\www\textpattern\textpattern\config.php (name it “config-live.php”), and change the following line to match:
$txpcfg['txpath'] = '\filer01\soho\boudaki.com\www.boudaki.com\web\content\textpattern';
Finally, upload config-live.php to your webserver, then on the live server, rename it to config.php.
Now you should have both your local copy and your live copy, and you can login to your live copy to update the site url, etc.
Does that make any sense?
Edit: Just remember: edits you do on your local copy (articles, categories, files, etc) won’t magically appear on your live site.
