Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

Absolutely fantastic plugin, thanks a lot for this.
A couple of questions.

  • When the ownership has been transfered and the new owner updates the page, it goes into ‘pending’ status, is there an easy way to notify a content manager that the page has been updated and requires making ‘live’ ?
  • While the article is between ‘pending’ and ‘live’ states, is there a way to put a message (e.g. ‘page currently being updated’) in place untill the article is live again ?

I realise that both these features are probably plugins in themselves but I’d appreciate any help you could give with this.
Thanks in advance.

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

Are you sure the first thing you’re describing isn’t a permissions/privileges thing on your local version of Textpattern? That sounds like what happens when someone edits an article who doesn’t have permission to edit published articles.

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

Thanks very much, I updated the permissions in admin_config.php and it’s all working fine now.
(Although I do think that the article pending feature would be a really good adaptation of the plugin, version 0.3 perhaps :) )
Many thanks once again for your help with this great plugin.

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

I seem to be encountering the same problem as some earlier posters, but none of the suggestions seem to do anything. Looking at the page source, I’m seeing the JavaScript for the plug-in, but it simply doesn’t display, without so much as an error message (either in Safari or Firefox). I’m running TXP 4.0.3.

Are you running off the latest development build from subversion?

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

It’s just version 4.0.3 from the site. I’d completely forgotten about this, but I am using Mary’s Admin Facelift hack from these forums, which I’d wager is doing it. I’ll go back to the default install tomorrow, and see if that fixes it.

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

I’ve now replaced my entire TXP install from 4.0.3 in case I’d changed any of the files, re-installed the plug-in, and even tried disabling the other plug-ins I have installed. It still isn’t coming up. Is there anything else you know of that could be causing this?

This is probably a very silly question but you are looking at an already saved article, right? There’s no transfer link on a clean write page.

Nope, it’s definitely with saved articles. As I said, the JavaScript for it is showing up in View Source, but it’s not actually appearing on the page. This makes me think that it’s some sort of browser problem, but I’m now using all the default styles and have tried it in both Safari and Firefox.

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

I’ve tested it out on many browsers on vanilla installs for v4.0.3 with no problems. Keep in mind:

Basic author can only transfer own articles; managing editors and publishers can transfer any article. This may change after some user feedback.

Could this be related?

I’m definitely running it as publisher. I’ve just tried it on another site, too (which runs the same extensions/hacks as far as I know), and it works fine. There’s obviously something odd going on with that install. I’ve posted the source code for a page I get here, if that helps.

If this doesn’t work, is there a way to manually change the author on an article?

Sorry that this is taking so long, and thanks for your help!

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

Will this be updated for 4.0.4 soon?
