Resources for students
Hi,
I am a new user to textpattern. I would like to use it to set up a resources site where staff can easily upload files such as homework, etc. and students can then go on and download them. I would like six sections; one for each member of staff, so that a student can click to go to their teacher’s page and download the latest file. However, I am not sure how to go about setting this up. I can upload files, but I cannot get it set up so that students can then find those finds and download them.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Re: Resources for students
Hi Tom,
When you upload a file it gets added to the Files tab under the Content section in the admin area.
On the line where the name of the file is displayed are the tags you can use to copy/paste in either an article or page template so that a student can click on it to download said file.

Wouldn’t you rather use something specifically made for such a thing? Blackboard, I think would be ideal for most schools.

Re: Resources for students
Thanks for your help. In relation to Blackboard, I don’t know much about it, but I think that this is more a large scale product, and the site that I am working on currently only covers two departments. Perhaps if the school chose to start utilising the Internet more then a dedicated product such as that may be appropriate.
