Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] mcw_templates: export/import pages, forms, css to files

Thanks Scott and Mike, I’m just at the point where this plugin is much appreciated.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] mcw_templates: export/import pages, forms, css to files

Absolutely brilliant. Works flawlessly.

Feature requests
  1. plugins
  2. import/export to .zip/.tgz

There’s some work being done w/ importing & exporting plugins via .zip/.tgz, perhaps code could be shared.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] mcw_templates: export/import pages, forms, css to files

This plugin has become the first thing I install after Textpattern.

I would suggest adding an .htaccess to the _templates directory:
<code>
<Limit GET POST PUT>
Order Allow,Deny
Deny from All
</Limit>
</code>

Maybe a small blurb in the help file?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] mcw_templates: export/import pages, forms, css to files

This is great, should really be core functionality within TXP. Essential plugin, thanks.

To make it perfect:

1. Add plugins to scope

2. Have an interface such as ‘rss_admin_db_manager’ (zips up and lists backups).

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] mcw_templates: export/import pages, forms, css to files

I just started using this plugin for backup purposes. As Ross mentioned, it’d be killer if the plugin could zip them up for download. Still, it’s very handy as it is – I’d been using a Firefox plugin to do this same thing, and while that saves you some time too, it’s still time-consuming.

Thanks.

And it works fine under 4.0.4?

I’ve been using it with perfect success on 4.0.4. It’s a simply wonderful plugin.

It will never screw up your database, although advertised as Beta, it’s pretty much gamma.
I have been testing it thoroughly with 4.0.4 recently and haven’t found any problems.

Neat plugin! Almost perfect.

I just wish there was a way that I could have the DB synced to FTP somehow without having to import. This way I can edit files in Textmate directly on the server and make changes in real time.

@Ace, there is a sql-edit Bundle for TM, if you want to give that a try.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] mcw_templates: export/import pages, forms, css to files

Well, what about the option of the CSS editor actually physically editing the file? Would work anywhere there’s not safe_mode.

All it would need is an admin plugin that overrides the existing Style tab, too!

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] mcw_templates: export/import pages, forms, css to files

I’d really like to use this plugin or its relative hcg_templates, but they both write files that belong to the webserver. Since I use shared webhosting, this means that I can’t change or delete the files after.

Is the file ownership controlled by the plugin code, or by the webhost, and what can be done to fix this problem?
