My html removed
This is my first encounter with textpress and I’m having difficulties with page templates. I created a new page for the front page and assigned it to a new section called front selected to appear in the index address. So far so good for the content, it displays the single article as expected.
There’s two problems though.
Parts of the default page are still showing, i.e. the search boxes, site title and links on the left. I’ve removed all the special tags except for the article tag, so I don’t know what’s wrong here.
I entered a two column table in the page/template and assigned a blank stylesheet for the time being. But when I look at the source code in view site it’s all been stripped out and replaced with divs. Er can’t I use my own html?

Re: My html removed
If I understand correctly, you’ve created a new page/template for a section called ‘front’.
That template will be used if you visit: http://example.com/front
Setting “on front page?” to ‘yes’ for the “front” section, doesn’t mean that the page/template of that section is used for the page a http://example.com. What it means is that any articles you put in the ‘front’ section (http://example.com/front), also appear on the http://example.com page.
If you want to change the page/template for the real front page (http://example.com), then you have to change it for the section called ‘Default’.

You can also assign your new page to section ‘default’ (presentation > sections).
