Re: Urgent help: product catalog?
Now, I have done it: <a href=“http://www.shifara-antique.ee/”>Shifara website</a>
I still have some things I have to figure out.

glad you got there in the end – looks good too. I see you went with the table in the end too. The things you’re still doing I guess include the many page not found errors.
BTW: How are you doing the multi-lingual setup? Have you got lots of duplicate custom_fields for the painting infos in each language?

Re: Urgent help: product catalog?
Well my client is designer’s worse nightmare actually.
I mean at first I designed really good looking web.
But then he told me that he doesn’t appreciate new age designs and wants old&crappy… :P
Hea said he liked this one here: <a href=“http://www.gelos.ru/”>gelos.ru</a>
Now, he doesn’t like live search as well… damn it.
I haven’t had any time to deal with other languages yet, but I was thinking doing it by separate TXP installations.
I know there’s better way to do it.
But first I have to make some redesigning.
And about product list… he wants java/flash menu. He described how it should work:
“When I click on “Kunst” at home page, I want other selections to dissapear, so only the one I selected remains.”
So what’s the point of the list then??? This guy is really a nutcase :))

Re: Urgent help: product catalog?
btw, how can I make that in there – “Viimati lisatud” and below – would be displayed latest articles?
I mean how can I edit <txp:recent_articles /> tag or smth, so it would look like the 2 lines below?

Re: Urgent help: product catalog?
well, the website is basically finished, only one “little” matter left.
the navigation of products.
I have the structure like this:
I understand that I have to create section “art”. Do I have to create “russian-art”, too?
Then, let’s say I want to add a product to “russian-art/paintings”.
but I have “european-art/paintings” as well, so I can’t write that article and assign it to the category “paintings”.
This sublevel categorization gives me a headache :(

Re: Urgent help: product catalog?
headache is over and my work is almost done!
I have to write russian part now, and that’s not fun part.
All sections and categories work like they should.
Feeling good.
btw, can I backup or zip all this website, in case I would need a similar project in the future?

<a href=“http://textpattern.com/faq/107/how-do-i-back-up-textpattern”>How do I back up Textpattern?</a> has info on backing up the database. If your client’s site has <code>cron</code>, you can also use that to (regularly) backup anything not in the database. But if you only want to do it once, doing it manually may be the easiest way.
