sed_comment pack help!
HI there, im trying to get the sed_comment pack working so i can identify the authors on my website from normal comments.
Im stuck. Ive downloaded the plugin enabled it and switched the auto comments bit to no in admin. From there i just cant work out what to do! my comments are called just using these tags and the standard forms
<code><txp:comments />
<txp:comments_form /></code>
Can anyone suggest what i need to do. I have read the instructions for the plug-in but they’re not making enough sense to me!
Thanks for any suggestions!

Re: sed_comment pack help!
Bumping is allowed, especially if you’ve been waiting for a week ;)
I don’t know what you want to do exactly, but you have to edit the form ‘comments’. For example this is a simplified model of my own comments form (I left out some classes etc. that are not relevant):
<div class="<txp:sed_get_comment_class hide_odd_even='1' />">
<txp:comment_anchor />
<h3><txp:sed_comment_number /></h3>
<h4><txp:comment_name /></h4>
<txp:sed_comment_time class='comment-time'/>
<txp:message />
</div>
The first line will output <div class="comment"> for a visitor’s comment, and <div class="comment author"> for an author’s comment. You style those classes in your CSS.
Does this help?

Re: sed_comment pack help!
Hi Els,
Well i get that and ive put it into my comments form. Now what do i need to put in the comments form to get it recognised as an author comment? I cant find a clear explanation in the manual. Ive tried my real name, my login both with the email address ive got registered in my installation of txp. Ive also styled the author comment in my css but im not too sure if i should be doing .commentauthor or .comment author.

Good question! It’s working for me when I use my real name and email as shown in admin > site admin. Can’t remember that I had to do anything else to get it working.
Ive also styled the author comment in my css but im not too sure if i should be doing .commentauthor or .comment author.
<div class="comment author"> is a combination of two classes. So you have to style .comment for all comments, and properties for only the author’s comments go in .author.

Many apologies for not spotting this thread sooner. I have been very busy working on a new MLP plugin for TxP and have not been checking the forum regularly.
Glad to hear that it is working for you now. If you have any more feedback or queries then you could post on the plugin’s home thread – and I’ll get emailed a notice about it so you shouldn’t have to wait around so long.
Els
Thank-you for helping out with the problem. Maybe we should nick-name you ‘old-reliable’ or something like that.

Hi Els,
I think you can trim the class='comment-time' attribute out of the sed_comment_time tag. That’s the default value.
