Content negotiation and index.php.en

I’m working on a bilingual website – german and english. First I created to categories ‘en’ and ‘de’. Then I filter the categories to get an URL like this www.domain.de/section/?c=en. Okay, it works.

Then I found the great zem_rewrite-Plugin. I used this to get an URL-scheme like www.domain.de/section.en. That is not to hard to achieve. (Okay, still have some problems with txp:if_individual_article and txp:article but that won’t matter for the moment).

But! How can I get to different homepages? I need an www.domain.com/index.php.de and an www.domain.com/index.php.en. Again, www.domain.com/?c=en works fine but I think for content negotiation I need the dot-version.

Has any one any idea?

Update: I found a solution without zem_rewrite. Maybe this one will help somebody. You can create different homepages simply by adding the category this way: www.your-domain.com/default/?c=yourcategory. “default” is the homepage´s “section”.
