link mode and custom url-only titles then google blindness, or what ?

I have launched a few TxP sites before that have always done well with google.

On 16th August I launched another one that all of a sudden does not do well at all, the site now ranks on page 19 or 20 only but with tens of references to it on previous google pages, the first of which reference ranks third and that’s my vr-log annoucement (another txp site).

i’m puzzled, it is very much a splash site with very few links (but links nevertheless) so that could be just it, but it is also the very first time I’ve used the /title in permalink mode and the custom url-only have been set to a dull sequence vr1 vr2 etc to accomodate for a top flash nav bar linking to content.
Ideas anyone?
