There are similar posts all over the place (one of which by me when I first started with textpattern). I don’t think there is anyway to turn it off (unless you can code and change some things there). It’s actually a good feature to prevent spam. Might do a search, you’ll probably find more useful information.

You can install the nhn_livecommentpreview plug-in, it’ll add, among other things, a checkbox and will get rid off the preview step (because preview is being done on the fly).
