Keywords as meta data per article?

Is this possible to do? By that I mean, you post an article, and the article has meta data which displays the keywords used for that article. If so, how would you go about approaching it?

Thanks in advance

I have done, but not sure where the keywords go? Keywords box? But then they can’t contain spaces I don’t think

Nope, that’s what’s cool about the ajw_keyword_extract. It’s using Yahoo!‘s term extraction API to pull keywords from the article on it’s own.

Re: Keywords as meta data per article?

Hmm I’m not sure I understand the problem with the original question. <code><txp:meta_keywords /></code> will place an articles keywords as a meta keyword tag and <code><txp:keywords /></code> can extract the keywords for use in a page/form.

Re: Keywords as meta data per article?

Hah. Awesome, NyteOwl!

I had read forum posts awhile ago that, while not dealing with keyword display, did say that the search function didn’t search keywords. This led me to believe that they had, essentially, been left out of textpattern’s output or use. I realize now that was a dumb assumption for me to make. Thanks for posting how to use the keywords section.

Re: Keywords as meta data per article?

can you have txP:meta_keywords and meta keywords together, or is it a choice between one or the other? I have some keywords for the site that I use, but in order for the meta keywords to work per article, I guess I need to replace my existing meta keywords with the meta tag? Or can I use if statements?

I don’t see why you couldn’t use both your own meta keywords line and the <code><txp:meta_keywords /></code>. You could use if statements too if you prefer. Unfortuantely you can’t jst add the <code><txp:keywords /></code> to the end of a meta statement as it only works in an article form which is not usually used for header material.
