Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_lightbox (Thumbnail galery with unobtrusive javascript)

@ Iken: maybe it’s something strange in your CSS-settings. Are you using the default ones provided with the plugin?

No, I haven’t modified the included .css file. Also, deactivating styles on that page didn’t help either.
Apparently, there was another .js script that was causing this problem; deactivating it magically solved the problem.
Anyway, thanks for your help TNT.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_lightbox (Thumbnail galery with unobtrusive javascript)

I have the same problem mentioned earlier in this thread. My page just shows up blank. I found that the head-tag doesn’t point at the file names – just the directory /files/. I’ve tried both manual and auto-install with no luck. If I hard code the appropriate links in the head section the page loads but the lightbox images wont show…

Any ideas?

Would it be possible to accomodate this modified version of Lightbox that enables slideshows?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_lightbox (Thumbnail galery with unobtrusive javascript)

First of all, I also would like to thank Bastian for this wonderful script!

I have a request and I am hoping someone else has already tackled this issue. My client has commented that the ‘Next’ and ‘Prev’ buttons on the individual images are not at all evident and that he pretty much found them by accident. Which I can understand.

What have other done to make it clear to the end user how the navigation works?

Any and all assistance would be appreciated.

I had a client that I just finished a site for say the same thing. Check out the site and see if that is what you are after. If so, it just involves changing the lightbox css. I took out the :hover pseudo-class on the elements that have the next and prev images as their backgrounds and set those as the backgrounds on the non-hovered instances.

Jamie:

Thanks for the feedback. I implemented your recommendation and it works like a charm. This should work for the client.

Thanks again.

=================

I get the same problem on my website. Safari loads blank. Looking at samisdat’s source shows this:

<script type='text/javascript' src='http://samisdat.org/files/'></script>
<script type='text/javascript' src='http://samisdat.org/files/?load=effects'></script>
<script type='text/javascript' src='http://samisdat.org/files/'></script>
<link rel='stylesheet' href='http://samisdat.org/files/' type='text/css' media='screen' />

No file names, just pointing at the catalogue. Is this a bug in bas_lightbox?

(Edit: updated to display code properly. -Mary)

An implementation with litebox would be great.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_lightbox (Thumbnail galery with unobtrusive javascript)

I have the same problem with samisdat.org and Safari.

The “work-around”: I have found that if I drag the cursor over the blank page, it will then appear. However, clicking on links, etc. results in very unpredictable behavior.

I am currently having a similar problem with this web page. All the links, the quick reply message box, and the page from the second post on problems with safari & samisdat.org down are all expanding and collapsing as I mouse over them. I am wondering if the code posted in that message from Samisdat.org might be causing it.

The only way to click on a link is to highlight it. Then the expand/collapse action stops in Safari.
