Require login to comment?
Is it possible to require users to make a login name and password in order to make comments on the blog? If so, how can I do this?
Thanks!

Re: Require login to comment?
No. You can specify that commenters must leave an email address. There are also captcha plugins you can use.
I think some people have been working on integrating other things like TypeKey or OpenID authentication into plugins.
You could also use mem_self_register and then use ign_password_protect to protect article pages. But that would require quite a bit of work and might end up restricting people from the content, not just from commenting.

Oh, you can go over to the plugins forum and put up a ransom for a plugin if you want to. Just realize that what you’re asking for is a little more complicated that most plugin ransoms.

Re: Require login to comment?
Hmmm… okay, thanks for the help. For some reason I thought Textpattern had a password required feature for comments. Thanks though.
