Category vs. Section - Journal entries and archive pages

Hello all. I need some help here.

I have a main section of Journal. Within Journal I have 4 categories: news, articles, events, and tutorials. On the main Journal page I have 1 exerpt of each category and eventually a limited list of 5 of the latest entry titles underneath. Under the list of articles, I want to have a link to view an archive or all articles in that category. Is there a way to do it without seperating the categories into sections, which I could figure out how to do.

What are your thoughts?

Re: Category vs. Section - Journal entries and archive pages

Hi Matt,

rss_unlimited_categories allows you to point category listings to a section of your choice. This means you can use your /journal/ section for the main page, individual entries and a list of entries filtered by category with some conditional tags. Example template:

<txp:if_individual_article>

---
Individual Entry space
---

<txp:else />

<txp:if_category>

---
<h1>Category: <txp:category link="0" title="1" /></h1>
<txp:rss_unlimited_categories_article_list section="journal" limit="999" />
---

<txp:else />

---
Your landing page stuff here
---

</txp:if_category>

<txp:if_individual_article>

You can then link to the category archives through http://www.example.com/journal/news/ urls.
