deadintherain.com - be gentle
i am really shy about showing this off – its been a little under used lately.
but, please take a look, i am open to suggestions and thoughts.
i only know how to make pictures and i dabble in the rest, its based heavily on a theme.
my main gripe is that it doesnt show up how it really should in IE6, but does great in firefox and IE7, css is sometimes the oil in my water.
…and it might be a pixel or so too big for 1024×768.
also, not that its extremely foul in content, but i dont know how work friendly the language would be considered.

oh, and the genre would be: wuss-baggery and rampant use of the ‘f’ word.

I’ve got my browser set to 1024 and I get a bottom scrollbar.
Interesting words, I smoke too much also ;)

yeah. when i was working on it, i forgot what rez i was in. i’m hoping that when i fix the css that will go away. maybe not so much fix, but more like, get it cross browser compatable.
thanks for taking a look and confirming the scroll bar. i had a sneaky feeling that i had messed that up.
the words are what i find myself the hardest to show.

You have a great site going. The minimalist template is beautiful, and you’ve done it justice. I especially like the header — full of color with a good type choice. I have two suggestions:
- Make the site’s layout fluid so it doesn’t matter what the screen resolution is.
- Pull some color from the header down into the content. I would love to see subtle magenta / purple highlights.

sthmtc – thanks. i’m glad to hear that you approve. i was joking to myself if it was still minimal enough to be minimal. but that was after i had destroyed things, especially cross browser wise, when i attempted to modify adding a background element to certain spots on the page. looked good in firefox, ruins everywhere else. —im rambling. it rocks that i get the official stamp man. i’d looked at clots and clots of themes to try to find a foundation to build off of and yours was exactly what i was looking for.
kevinpotts – im glad im not alone in the love of that header. i was pretty happy when that dropped out of me. i did make three bar type graphics to stuff in the background behind where the title, posted by, and catagory goes that were built off of a different section of the core graphic that part of became the header. my lack of time at the moment i decided to do all that left things very helter skelter and i do plan on going back and adding them when i can do them correctly… plus i need to fix up the link colorings to tie in better with the header graphic. to make the site feel more consistant.

really before i posted the link to the site here, like 4 people visited it and i wasnt too worried about things. but regardless of what kind of readership the site gets i plan finishing up and tightening up things. for my own peace of mind. thanks all three of you again for taking a peek and giving me feed back. im hoping in the next week when i get some time i will get to continue to tighten the screws.
im still a little ridged on the fluid design idea. i like the way the black shows up when you’re rocking the site on a higher rez.
