Another Question about images and image thumbnails on the homepage

Hello everyone,

I asked a question about image galleries a while back and got some good responses for what I needed to do and what plugins I need to use to get started. When I made the post a while back, I was in the planning stages of my site, and wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do, but now I’m for sure and I would like some experts here to tell me if what I want is possible or not?

Okay, first off if you didn’t know, the site I’m working on is a golf site. Eventually once I get the design done, it will look similar to this image: <a href=“http://www.kentuckygolfing.com/kentuckygolfing.gif”>http://www.kentuckygolfing.com/kentuckygolfing.gif</a>

You can see where I’ve got “recent pictures.” This will be part of the equation I need to do.

There are around 300 courses in Kentucky and I will have the details about each course in it’s own individual article. I know you can setup images with your txp so that you make a new article with an image, and then that image will automatically go into a gallery or thumbnail section or whatever.

What I’m wondering about is this: I’m already going to have some 300 articles anyway containing the details about each golf course in the state. My plan is to take pictures of the golf courses that I play and post them on the site, so if I were to go to a course, take some pictures and then insert the pictures into the already made article with the details about that particular course, is there some way that I could make those images appear on the homepage under “recent pictures”? Just the last 4 added in a small thumbnail gallery, each linked so that when the image is clicked, it would take the visitor to the corresponding article for that golf course?

Let me know if this is confusing to anyone and I’ll explain differently.

Nice! I think that’s exactly what I needed. I’ll try it and post back any questions. Would you rather me post questions here, or in the actual thread for wet_thumbfilter if I do have any?

It is advisable to post questions re plugins in the plugin threads. This way others might benefit from them and the forum is kept more organised.
