Textpattern Pro

Will the free version of Textpattern be restricted to personal webpages only after Textpattern Pro is released? Or will it continue be distributed under the GNU for all kinds of webpages?

Re: Textpattern Pro

Searching reveals insight.

But if I’m not mistaken, it’s “free as in beer”, or some such lather. ;)

There will never be more restrictions on Textpattern. In fact with the next major release it will be released under a BSD-Licence which allows more freedom. And since usually the next question that comes up is “will Textpattern development continue?”. Yes, and you don’t even have to take my word for it, you can simply monitor the publicly accessible subversion repository. There can be no Textpattern Pro without a thriving Textpattern. The key difference between the two offerings will likely not be in the code.

Re: Textpattern Pro

Most likely it’s for businesses and people that need consultation services, or steady support. More for companies, probably.
