Adding links to articles

Hi,

Highlighting my ignorance once again, but is there a simpler way to add a link/s to an article instead of the “ link “ : linking method ?

On various other applications it is a simple matter of highlighting the link text and then a popup provides the means of adding the link.

Is this possible in TextPattern?

Thank you if anyone can offer some advice.
