Can't seem to add any padding to to comments
<a href=“http://www.kentuckygolfing.com/article/15/this-is-another-test#comment”>http://www.kentuckygolfing.com/article/15/this-is-another-test#comment</a>
As you can see there on my test article with comments, I have the #comments div background to a light green. I’d like to add padding to all text inside each comment (so the text isn’t right up against the green edge). But, when I add padding to #comments, nothing happens. It completely ignores that style. Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong here?

Not sure why it doesn’t work, but adding padding on a fixed width element can at times cause some cross browser issues with the layout.
It’s often better to add a margin on the elements inside. This seems to work:
#comments p {
margin-left: 10px;
}

Re: Can't seem to add any padding to to comments
Thank you! It seems I’ve ran into another bump in the road though. I’m not really sure why I’m having such a difficult time styling these comments, but I am. It really amazes me, the people that are able to incorporate background images and everything into their comments, because I’m lost on just getting a background color, let alone a background image.
Anyway, if you look at the page now, you’ll see that there are two comments just as before. I’m wanting these two comments to have the light green background, but I’m wanting them separated. I added padding of 20px to the bottom thinking this would separate the two comments, but it did not, it added the padding but the green background stayed solid. Can you see what I’m missing?
Thanks

Re: Can't seem to add any padding to to comments
It’s not padding you want, it’s a margin.
ul.comments li {
margin-bottom: 10px;
}

DOH! Thanks. Obviously, right? Sometimes I think I just need to backup and take a breath, I was ready to choke my screen (is that possible?)
