[wiki] Does anyone have a copy of Mark Norton's tutorials?
Hi all,
I’m trying now TXP after some experience with Joomla. As far as I can see, it’s a whole new world. I’m looking for all the tutorials I can get. Unfortunately Mark Norton’s tutorials seem to be wiped out of www’s face. Can anyone help me? Or at least tell me, were they any good? :)
I have completed Doug Edmunds’ tutorial. Can you point me to similar content?
Thank you.

I thought Joomla was way more confusing, so maybe that will make you feel better. :) Anway, one way of learning a little is downloading templates and seeing how they are put together <a href=“http://textplates.com/”>TextPlates</a>

<br />
GodBit: <a href=“http://godbit.com/article/godbit-textpattern-code”>GodBit TXP Code</a>
<br />
Hope that helps.

Mark Norton’s tutorial(s) is now in TextBook <a href=“http://textpattern.net/wiki/index.php?title=Textpattern_101”>http://textpattern.net/wiki/index.php?title=Textpattern_101</a>

Will Textpattern 121, part 1&2 also be in Textbook? Those tutorials are also very helpful for newbies – like I once was and still am, sometimes…
Now that I’m looking in Textbook, I noticed that the tutorial isn’t under the link ‘Tutorials’, but under ‘Article contributions’. I find that rather confusing… And I noticed Textpattern 121, part 1&2 are on the way.
…Prrrrrrrr…

Mark’s articles (they’re not tutorials, exactly) are long; porting them from Textile syntax to wiki syntax takes time and I’m sure Mark will do it when he has the time. His articles are no longer available online, so you’ll just have to wait until he gets around to it.
I have written a two-article series geared at Texpattern beginners, maybe you’ll find them helpful:
The Tutorials section in TxB is planned for shorter-style articles that will show as well as explain a single concept/topic, like a real tutorial does. They will show up there in time. You can also help write tutorials to make things happen quicker. The overview on that page already explains one good way to get you started. The power is in your hands, use it, be glorious!
The Article Contributions section is reserved for articles that are originally published on people’s own Weblogs/Sites and are graciously contributed to TextBook for expansion and/or translation. It is the authors choice as to what extent they want their work modified.
As you might now see, there is an intended difference between those sections in TextBook. It should be more clear when there’s actually more content there to see, but that’s up to you and the next person, not me or anyone else that runs TextBook. It’s a community effort, remember; if there is no community contributions, there’s no content. Simple.
