Sections, needing only the bare minimum?

If you click on the little “?” beside the input box for adding new section names, you’ll see it explains sections and says that

“For most websites, only a bare minimum of sections need be created.”

I’m having trouble understanding how you can only create the bare minimum. For example, I’ll use my site: Kentucky Golfing

In the navigation menu, I’ve got About, Course Guide, Instruction, Advertise, Contact, etc…I WILL need to create sections for each of these links, right? Is that what the “bare minimum” is? Just enough for each of your site areas? I don’t really see how I could get away with less sections than at least one for each link/area of the site.

Re: Sections, needing only the bare minimum?

Yes, I would do them as sections, you’d have more control over them than if you did them as categories.

In a section, you can control it’s styling, so down the line you can tweak it if you like. Also you can do section conditionals and control what get’s displayed in the sidebars. You may be able to do this with categories but I found it easier to do it by sections.

Re: Sections, needing only the bare minimum?

Thanks. That’s what I thought, but wanted to make sure there wasn’t some easier way to do what I wanted.
