max chars for example in title
If i am to publish an article but i do not want the entire title to show. For example I only want the first 10 chars of the title to be shown. Because if the entire title is printed out it occupies several rows of a css container. So is there a way to do this with textpattern, or any otherway for that matter if someone knows :)

What would be the point in writing such a long title then? You can limit the the url title length under Admin settings, but if you want to limit the output, you could probably adapt a javascript url-abbreviator script.

Just thougt of the idea, ofcourse i can just shorten the title manually and add … at the end when it is to long for the container. Just wanted to know if it was possible any other way.

There is a plugin that can do this: sab_substr. Don’t know if it works with the current version though.
