DESPERATE CSS help needed for IE!!!!!
Hey guys and gals.
My latest txp site is having problems in IE. Check it out at http://www.jeffyablonforsenate.com. Firefox and others look fine. It appears to be due to my right floating section. HELP!!!
Thanks,
Steve

Re: DESPERATE CSS help needed for IE!!!!!
I think the fix is to remove float:right from the right hand column and use margin-left instead and also add position:relative to the container, the left column and the right column.
<code>
.right {margin-left: 560px; padding: 15px 0px 15px 0px; position: relative;}
</code>
560px is merely my approximation. You might have to work out a more exact figure. And don’t forget to add the postion: relative to the other two classes.

Too late! So what did you do? Also, on my fix, you have to remove the width for the right column.

Re: DESPERATE CSS help needed for IE!!!!!
I just added position:relative; to the two .right elements that had background images, the ul and li. Seems to have worked!
Thanks again,
Steve

For further IE troubles in the future, check out the Dev toolbar too. It’s so much easier to fix/find CSS problems with that than the usual guess-and-check method.

Re: DESPERATE CSS help needed for IE!!!!!
I’ve put together a half-dozen websites using TextPattern and it’s been pretty smooth sailing. But now I’ve got an IE problem: I developed a new site (www.maveaux.biz) and put up a textpattern template, and it looks great in Firefox. But—in IE, is shows as if there is no CSS at all!
This must be a simple thing—anyone have this happen?
Thanks.

Re: DESPERATE CSS help needed for IE!!!!!
At a guess, line 3 of your stylesheet might be causing it:
<code>
background: url(“../images/logo_sba.gif) 205px;
</code>

In the future, please create subjects that describe the actual problem and avoid overuse of exclamation points.
