login suddenly not working!
i’m not sure if a bot somehow hacked and changed the admin of my textpattern site, but for some reason, the login that has been used for the past year was suddenly changed. is there a way to check what the password is through some system files or something?
when i try to login, i get a ‘cant login with that username/password’ message—the site still runs how it’s supposed to, i just cannot log in.
anyone have any suggestions to check/change/reset the password?

I am betting that your host just upgraded your MySQL version to 4.1. Am I right?
That’s when MySQL changed how it hashes passwords. No worries though, you can fix it. :)

Actually we take care of mysql-upgrades in textpattern code. The only problem is downgrades, because – obviously – older mysql-versions do not know the newer pw-mechanism (while newer ones do know the older pw-mechanism).
In any case, mary has pointed you to the solution to use, when your pasword doesn’t work, or has been forgotten.
