custom field as textarea

I’d like to have a custom field input be a textarea instead of text input (like the Keywords input instead of the like the other ones). Is there a simple way to do this, or must it be done through a little plugin?

Must be done with a hack, actually.

Re: custom field as textarea

ok, I sort of really need this, but i can’t figure out how to approach the problem. I’ve considered trying to just change the “Keywords” label to the label I want and using the txp:keywords tag, but i’m hesitant to do this because i’m not sure what keywords are used for (already searched the faq).

any clues as to how i can have a custom field in the article write section be a textarea input instead of a text input? plugins like upm_img_popper add links to this admin interface, so I imagine changing the type of an imput may be done in a similar way.
