I don’t know, all it says is: All three judges are independent and their decision is final

Re: Packt Publishing Open Source CMS awards
I see, looks interesting, they are all very well versed in open-source. mysql, eclipse.
Hopefully they will be able to give a much more objective judgement than <a href=“http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=17380”>here</a>

Re: Packt Publishing Open Source CMS awards
Scott is going to lean towards Mambo, I have no doubt about that, even though Joomla! is a better choice.
Lenz and Nathan will bring Drupal into the picture, just look at the MySQL and Eclipse sites.
That’s leaves us, the voting public to determine the viewer’s choice award.

Congratulations to these finalists and thank you to everyone who nominated. The result was extremely close with very few votes separating the finalists. Re: Packt Publishing Open Source CMS awards
I would have to agree that this list is a bit Mickey Mouse.
Of the 5, Drupal is a CMS, e107, Joomla and XOOPS are Portals in my mind. What I consider a portal app is that the sites made from them all tend to have the same look and feel, as does the backend administration where you activate and move blocks up and down on the side menus.
Plone, written in Python, is more geared to high end sites with dedicated servers. So in that case where’s eZ publish or TYPO3?
Very odd pickings and the publicity has been lost on this venture.

Re: Packt Publishing Open Source CMS awards
This order is logical because those CMS are old and have a lot of users and then have a lot of votes!
