Posting from ecto
I’m having a strange issue with ecto using the official RPC add-on. Articles post just fine, but don’t display on my site. However, if I log in to Textpattern and navigate to the article list, I can see that the article is there. Re-saving it from within Textpattern fixes the issue and article display just fine on the site.
Any thoughts?

Are sections or categories saving at all?
Those appear to be the two problems I’m having from MarsEdit.

Categories aren’t set (have same issue with MarsEdit). Section appears to be set. However, if I go into Textpattern, edit the article and re-save, Textpattern shows “Article posted” at the top as the status message. Additionally, the url-only title is not set after posting from ecto (or MarsEdit), but it is populated as normal after re-saving within Textpattern.
(BTW, Performancing.com Firefox plug-in works fine for new posts, but if you repost as Edit, i get into a similar situation as described above…)
Any thoughts much appreciated.

So it appears that the issues with posting were related to Time Zone. Depending on the blog settings and (possibly?) the server time zone, the post would either be timestamped a few hours ahead or just one minute ahead. Ecto time zone settings dealt with either case.
With respect to categories not being set, this appears to work through the Metaweblog API (but not through Moveable Type).
