Probably better to just discuss him right here so more minds are on the issue, openly.

So I if I understand correctly, this is basically a nice way to handle whole document files (for instance .doc, .pdf, etc.) as files physically stored on the server (in a folder) rather than via Txp’s file panel which stores files in the database. Is that right?

ok, i think, here is really better place for discussing.

The main preposition for creating this plugin were my love to using FTP. It’s too simple: four clicks and 1024 files lies on the server.

When using TXP panel, i need to upload every file one-by-one.

OK. Thanks, skipper, that’s clearly a yes to my question, though I’m guessing that number (1024) is an exaggeration to emphasize your logic, because surely nobody would want nearly that many PDF files (for example) on their server without the aid of a true document management system. Nevertheless, I like the plugin…very unique.

PDF? Hrmm, You can want to store your own MP3 collection or smth like that on your server ,-)

My next step, by the way, is a photoalbum with same principles – i.e. script, who scan given folder for image files and output it.

It is ideal to public a lots of photos on your website, without comments, rates, descriptions, etc.

skipper,

I like your idea, it’s very similar to a script called snif

FTP up your files, put them in subdirectories and let the script sort them out.
