Yeah, what is happening? I proposed to help, yet got no response to my mail. It’s a bit of a shame, I had the feeling things were moving along pretty well. And then suddenly nothing.
By the way, does anyone know any Perl around here? That would be great, and would allow this idea to be made real in a record time.

Matthew is right: We are still working on it, but you know… there is a life with all its duties. So it’s not going on as fast as expected.
Alex is writing down a concept gathering all the things we have by now. It’s in German for the beginning, because it’s much easier for us to discuss it in our native language. It will be posted here when it’s finished and translated.
Please don’t give up :) Things are still going on…

Perhaps you can start a write up of your own and we can compare notes with the one that Alex and Nils are working on?
I bet it would be good to have different perspectives?
Also, it seems unlikely per some discussions in the txpProf group that there will be any image handling additions in the next release, so a lot of this is long term thinking. However, if we were to drum up enough financial support we might propose these types of changes to TeamTextpattern for a “Special project”?

in addition to Matthews posting above: dudes, there is really no need to hurry through.. rather interesting is who is doing the coding. i really like to avoid wrting a long concept and then noone is doing the coding.. that has been the discussion lately. if you like, write a concept and lets compare…

OK well for me, inclusion in the txp core was always an optional extra, rather than a primary aim. It seems to me, it would be great but would involve the very most amount of work. And I’m entirely happy with an image handling plug in – in fact as I recall, that topic came up in discussion before, and I said exactly the same thing.
So if thats the situation, is anyone working on a plug in? If not, for me thats quite depressing because after all this talk and thinking, if the project is only about the txp core then that could be 6 months away, 12, more, who knows? I fear that this great idea would get somewhat buried.
On the matter of financing a special project I’d be interested in joining with people for a Paypal fund (I can’t afford very much myself but a large number of people could), but I think first of all we need some clarity on whats currently happening. Is anyone already working on a plug in?
