Re: mem_self_register

So I can set it up so the users can have profiles viewable by each other?

With fields Like my favorite books
AIM name

etc?

Re: mem_self_register

The plugin currently does not display this extra information. I have gotten a few requests for a way to add custom fields to user profiles. When I find the time to work on this, you will be able to create a full user profile.

Re: mem_self_register

I seem to be the only person have this problem but basically the plugin just won’t install. I download the text file, CTRL+A, CTRL+C, CTRL+V into the plugin box, hit upload and it appears with the preview. Problem is, it just stops at this line:

// create default successful registration form to show the user &nbs0

What is going on? I am running textpattern 4.0.3 and other plugins install fine.

Re: mem_self_register

Redownload the plugin. It seems as if you have a corrupt version.

Re: mem_self_register

Hello Manfre, thanks for the fantastic plugin. I’ve got it installed and working. I am wondering about a couple of things:

  1. Is there a way to configure my setup to send an email to the admin when a new article is submitted?
  2. From reading the “Moderation Queue” help, it seems like it’s possible for a registered user to log in and re-edit submitted articles. But, I can’t seem to find a way to make this work. When a registered user logs in, all they see is the mod_article_form with blank input fields. I can’t seem to get to the moderate_submission_list to display anything even when the user does have articles in the moderation queue. Any suggestions? Edit: Never mind, I found the answer to my question. :)

Re: mem_self_register

Hey Manfre

Been playing with your plug-in. Very cool – it does everything I need on a basic level.

Did you get around to adding the option to include other fields to the profile? I’d like to make a form with more options, such as ‘hobbies’ etc. The ability to upload a picture would be great also! (Perhaps combining with cgd_profile somehow)

Would you be interested in adding this functionality for more donations?? ;-)

It seems to be the one thing lacking in textpatterns ability to create community based sites.

thanks for all your work so far.

Re: mem_self_register

I see donations as optional. Ransoms are a different story, since sometimes I need the money. Feel free to donate if you like my work or would like to bribe your request to the front of my todo list.

BTW, mem_self_register.txt

Add a field to the database, don’t use the binary or blob types, and then add an html input field to your registration form. Also use for the profile edit form.

To display the information, use <txp:mem_profile var="NAME_OF_FIELD" /> inside one of this plugin’s templates. It currently does not do any type of formatting upon the value, so dates, numbers, and text will be displayed as they come back from the database.

Test this extensively before applying to your live site. Feedback is also a must.

Re: mem_self_register

Great. Will be happy to test drive that on my dev server – will report back all findings :-)

Do you accept paypal? If this script works as I hope, I will be happy to donate to its future development.

Thanks.

Re: mem_self_register

Hi Manfre, sorry to repeat my question but wasn’t sure if it got read (because the post after it started a new page in this thread). Is there a way to configure my setup to send an email to the moderator when a new article is submitted?

Thanks again for the great work you do.
