A few questions about Users and Categories
First, after much deliberation, I’ve decided to use textpattern instead of wordpress for my next site. I feel it is somewhat more streamlined, the community seems tighter, and the documentation is IMO much better (or at least navigatable) than WP – kudos!
That said, I have a few questions – I hope they are not too redundant. This is the first time I’m going with a pre-done CMS so bear with me :)
Is there any way to
1) Have a category aggregate the articles in its sub-categories? One of the focuses of my site is tracking various projects that are under similar categories. I know that by default it doesn’t seem that a given category will show its children’s articles. Is there any way to toggle this?
2) Is there any way to set what categories that users can post in? As is, having them post articles for my approval works, but it would be nice if it was possible to set them to a default category.
Thanks, excited to start diging into this :) My template is done, I just have to learn the ropes how to integrate TXP with it.
