Remove edit links in write tab
Clicking edit in Sort and Display means that any changes you have made in the current article get lost. Should there be a prompt asking if this is what you really want to do, of should the edit links be removed. Prompts don’t seem to be the TP way so I suggest removing the edit links.

Txp uses a simple “are you sure” prompt for multiedit actions, so the concept isn’t totally foreign.
