Re: category problem

One is clean urls the other is messy, either is correct. Chances are you’re missing an article tag from your default page (that’s the page the category pages use).

Re: category problem

That’s not it then. Can you show a direct example of an article that points to a category, but the link doesn’t work?

Re: category problem

the 1st one is the original code <code><txp:category1 link=“y” /></code>

the 2nd one is <code><a href=”/events/index.php?c=<txp:category1 />”></code>

the 3rd is the rss unlimted categories plugin <code><txp:rss_unlimited_categories_filedunder usemessy=”” linktosection=events /></code>

the 4th is rss but without messy <code><br>Categories rss plugin: <txp:rss_unlimited_categories_filedunder linktosection=events /></code>

now…. i also wanna include that rss plugin goes to a category page only if the original dropdown categories are chosen…. if those arent then no matter if i choose the plugins categories, the page still wont show the category articles….im stumped

Re: category problem

B,

“http://angryvegan.ca/category/food” doesn’t go to a blank page, it goes to a page with content.

Forget about the plugins for now. Make it work in the simplest case first, then add things one at a time. <txp:category1 link="1" /> is the correct way to add a category link. If the correct articles aren’t shown on the linked page, the problem is with the article tag(s) on your front page template.

Re: category problem

No, I mean the actual article, not the tags you used.

Re: category problem

Can you enable debugging (admin prefs, production status) for endcruelty?

Re: category problem

The /category/united-states URL uses the front page (default template) to display articles. Your front page template has a <txp:article status="sticky" /> tag, but the article in question is not Sticky.

Re: category problem

ok i turned off the sticky i think thats what the problem was….. but also, when i use rss unlimited categories im running into a problem….. ok example, say i have canada and united states as categories…. if i choose both for the unlimted categories plugin articles in that category wont show unless i also choose the category from the basic category list that comes with txp…. so if i have an article with 3 categories i wont be able to link to the list for all 3, just the two that i can choose from the basic list…… if that makes any sence ;)
