Re: Supermarket Wine

Makes perfect sense. Very usable. Pretty handy I’d say (although I’m pretty well off the wine at the moment).
Do you have to spend hours trawling the supermarkets to keep it updated?
The only problem I’d have (other than my horror of Tescos) is that your red bottles look a bit pink and say rose to me.

All the best,
Will

Thanks Will
All the info comes from newspaper reviews (there’s a link to each review). And number one on my list of changes are the icons.

Re: Supermarket Wine

I like the clean, dare I say ‘Web 2.0’, look of it.

One thing – you don’t get to see the Browse by Category or the Taste tags until you’ve actually picked a Wine. These 2 options seem very helpful and could be brought forward into other screens.

Re: Supermarket Wine

Yes! Portuguese wine rules ;o)
And I’m not talking about Porto… but rather Dão or Alentejo

Re: Supermarket Wine

All comments duly noted.

And Portugese wine is getting some very good reviews – just a shame about the football.

Re: Supermarket Wine

The mast heads bottom-padding collapses in Safari, in other words, all the other block-level elements below shade the mast heads background-color with their white background-color and the bottom part of the shopping-cart is not visible.

This is due to font-size differences, it also will shift the main-nav list to the right on top of the content-header.

I am sure, that this is something, you didn’t expect, when you wrote the CSS, (Firefox fine).
Haven’t looked in detail what it is, but you can have a screenshot if you like.
(I also found it quite nice, easy usable, convenient and nice)

regards, marios

Re: Supermarket Wine

Really nice and handy site (if you live in the UK, that is). I’ve been looking for a way to search ‘cross-supermarket’, as it is now you have to choose a supermarket and then within it you can select categories and taste tags. If, for instance, I’m looking for a ‘fresh’ taste, and want to know which supermarkets have fresh wines, the only way to do it is using the search form. Ah well, I’m not shopping in the UK anyway…

<small>Speaking of ‘Portuguese’ and ‘fresh’: anyone care to set up an export business for vinho verde? rui? patchwork? ;)</small>

Marios,
Just received a Safari screen shot from a friend and it looks ok. If you can send me a screen shot, that would be great. Email is my name at riceflow.com

Thanks Edward

I know a lot of people who loves vinho verde, but there is a lot more to choose from…
My personal favourites are Alentejo, Douro and Dão.
Vinho Verde is very nice on the hot summer nights, but too light for my taste :-)

All the Best,
rui
