It should, if qmail’s sendmail wrapper is working and PHP’s mail settings are correct. That’s pretty much up to your hosting company.

qmail is just a replacement for sendmail, it should work just fine.

I use Exim on my VPS and mail from Textpattern or any other app I have installed sends out the mail.
