How To Make Links In Articles
I’m playing around with TextPattern. Maybe TP isn’t what I’m looking for.
How does one make links in articles? I need this for a client with no knowledge of HTML or anything. They need to be able to just type in a web address in an article and have it appear as a link. Is there a way for my clients to do this without editing any code?
Thanks

That’s if you’re using Textile. You can also use a wysiwyg plugin, like the one for TinyMCE.

Re: How To Make Links In Articles
Just tried that, but can’t get it to where I can see TinyMCE.
Edit: OK, now I’ve got it. I put TinyMCE into the public_html folder. Put it in /textpattern folder and it works.
Thank you! Slowly…I am learning.

Re: How To Make Links In Articles
roscolo, though it may seem easier for users to use a WYSIWYG editor, it’s actually more steps.
Using a toolbar:- Enter text into the article
- Highlight the text
- Press the hyperlink button
- Enter the web address
- Press ok
- <notextile><code>my link’s name;

Re: How To Make Links In Articles
I think TinyMCE is more intuituve for the average client (i.e., customer who wants to update their site) because it looks like something they understand, MSWord.

Re: How To Make Links In Articles
Different strokes for different folks. I use TinyMCE for an ongoing client, and he loves it precisely because it looks like a word processor.
