Image sort order
I’ve created categories by month for my site: 2005-07, 2005-08, etc… The problem is, of course, that the most recent images are always at the end of the list. Is there a way to change the sort order or otherwise add power to the image page for sites with lots of images? If not this would be extremely helpful.
Yes, I have tried turning it off and on.

Are you talking about your site itself, or the admin? can you elaborate?

Re: Image sort order
yeah, i mean on the admin page. Ultimately, I should be able to click on each header to sort by that column, and click again to sort in the oposite direction. But for my purposes, and probably 90% of everyone else, just a simple option to sort the most recently added images to the top would be 100% helpful.

Re: Image sort order
Okay. Yes, this still needs to be addressed, we have it in place for the files tab, but not the images one.
As an interim solution, I made a plugin that does exactly what you mention, albeit not in the images tab itself.

I notice that this plugin has since been abandoned. Any chance of the feature being included for the images list in the future? Having the most recently added images on top op the list would make a lot of sense.

Re: Image sort order
Yep… actually, I never did get mary’s plugin to work :-(
I’ve “solved the problem” by giving my images reverse-logical date-based categories starting with the new year. January’s category was “2004-12,” February’s is “2004-11,” etc. (the 2004 sorts them above 2005, when I was using more “logical” category names).
Even if I could re-sort the images by date, this system saves me the click. And since i’ll never need the images tab for older images (easier to find them by searching my actual site for text I remember accompanying the image), this is heaven to the extent that I can suspend logic.

This functionality was added in r1311.
