Working with the Flock browser?
I have seen some of you saying that you got flock working with TXP, and of course I also want in on the fun.
The problem is I don’t get it to work at all, either it is saying that I wrote the wrong username/password of which(spelling?) i doubt, and the more likely that my settings is wrong.
So my settings:
XML-RPC API: Movable Type API
Blog ID: Tranberry (?)
Access Point: http://tranberry.se/rpc/ or http://www.tranberry.se/rpc/
Should this work or am I doing it wrong?
I don’t really know if I have enable XML-RPC api at all.
Please help me.

Re: Working with the Flock browser?
You <a href=“http://textpattern.com/download-rpc”>downloaded and installed the XML-RPC</a> before entering these settings into Flock, right?
Sorry for the stupid sounding question, but I wanted to make sure before we go forward….

Re: Working with the Flock browser?
Yes i did that, but i am not convinced that I did it the right way. Just uploaded it to the txp root*, including paths.
*not the textpattern folder.
UPDATE: I re-uploaded it again and now magically it works, I must have done it wrong the other times.
Sorry for any inconveniences ;)
I have not tested to blog jet so don’t feel to safe.

Re: Working with the Flock browser?
I’ve tried using Flock as well and, after following the TXP XML-RPC installation instructions, I get the following error message:
Error retrieving blogs. There was an error detecting your blog settings. Click OK and re-enter the username and password. To manually configure your blog, click Cancel.
Username and password are both correct. I selected the MovableType API, tried a couple of blog IDs and set the access point to http://www.mysite.com/rpc.

I have got it working now.
Did you upload the RPC-XML (link posted above) to your web server?

Re: Working with the Flock browser?
Yes, I did. I’ve actually done it twice now. After reading how you got it working by uploading it again I gave it another try. Were you getting the same error message?

Re: Working with the Flock browser?
@jdykast:
In the first window of your Flock setup, put the full path to our blog. Ignore the warning and click continue. On the next window, write the full path to your rpc folder (“http://www.yourblog.com/rpc/”, and the backslash after rpc is important) under the Access Point. The blog ID is the section that you are posting to (if you leave it blank it will import all of the sections of the blog). I used the Movable Type Blog type. The next step is user name and password formalities and off you go.
No images or categories work for the moment, but that will be probably be fixed in the near future.
Hope this helps.

Re: Working with the Flock browser?
Perfect! I’d had been leaving the trailing slash on the rpc address. One little character…
Thanks
