Debugging mode - invalid sgml syntax

Minor thing.

In debugging mode, TXP insert the following at the bottom of a (site) page: [ --- secondpass --- ], inside a comment

This cause an XML error when a site is served as application/xhtml+xml.

Suggestion, just use one – (hyphen).
