Search the forum for zem_contact. It’s a very simple (and secure) plugin for making an email form. Should be just what you want. I use it at my site.

Normally I’d say, read the plugin thread. Of course you can do that but it has 21 pages by now… You’d better start with looking at Stuart’s article on The Bomb Site.

Re: adding a contact page (resolved)

If you just want a simple form like I have, then this is the code I use. It’s very simple. The defaults in zem_contact work well enough.

Re: adding a contact page (resolved)

You should read the docs for zem_contact. If you read them, you’ll see you can use <txp:zem_contact_text /> to add a text field, <txp:zem_contact_textarea /> for a text area, etc.

Er, back up a bit and start again? State exactly what steps you took, what you’re getting and what you were expecting to get back. :)

Re: adding a contact page (resolved)

im a n00b at textpattern sorry :(

all i want is a contact page (maybe add some extra fields later) …… ok i created a page called “contact” and replaced <txp:article /> with <txp:output_form form="zem_contact" /> then added a section called “contact” and made “contact” the page that the section uses….. and i also made a form with the code <txp:zem_contact to="adminendcruelty.ca” />@ ……. i’ve never used a plugin before so i’m probably way off :)

Re: adding a contact page (resolved)

Okay. So, what’s the problem, exactly? Don’t forget to read the “help” that accompanies a plugin.

You don’t need to use an intermediary form, by the way. Just put:

<txp:zem_contact to="admin@endcruelty.ca" />

right on your page. :)
