Importing From Movable Type And Categories/Extended Entries
When importing from movabletype, should categories already exist? I’ve tried importing all entries twice but the categories don’t appear. Also, where do the extended entries go? I’ve searched exhaustively to try tio figure these out because I know I’m not the only one, but to no avail. Thanks in advance :0)

For the script I wrote, they were appended to the end of the article, because that field doesn’t exist in textpattern. (You only have the excerpt, and the main article.) I’m not sure how the built in one works, but I imagine it is probably similar?

I assumed this to be true as well ramanan, but when I imported and went to single article – it wasn’t there.

You can try using my old import script and see if that works better. It should still work fine with txp 4.0.3.

Which import did you use? Movable Type (File) or Movable Type (MySQL DB)?

The file. I’ve basically gone in done it manually – but it would be nice to try to figure out for other folks :0)

Re: Importing From Movable Type And Categories/Extended Entries
Well, the import is supposed to: append extended body to the end of the body field, assign the primary category to Category1 and create that category if it doesn’t already exist.
Would it be possible for you to send me a copy of your import data?

Sure Mary, where should I send it, or should I just cut and paste it into the mail form?
