viewing in firefox or explorer (resolved)
ok so when i view my page in firefox it seems to load perfectly but in explorer it seems to off a little.

the “updated 2006……” line doesnt load properly in explorer (explorer is on the right firefox is on the left) and the “go” button on the search area seems to keep going in explorer
anyone know whats going on??? im having this arguement with someone the page isnt properly built and im saying explorer doest recognize some code…. anyone???

Yeah. You’re both right. The page isn’t properly built, so it doesn’t render correctly in IE because IE has “inconsistencies” in CSS rendering….and IE does not render some CSS properties. There are many CSS properties from CSS 2 that are not supported anywhere.
Then there’s the CSS 3 spec. You really on get to use that when working in…say…..Prince (that pdf generation engine).

how is it not properly built if i havent changed anything the code though??? im only using css code basically to change the layout

I think the “properly built” comment was in reference to using tables for layout rather than tabular data presentation. Combined with CSS hacks for IE and the use of “non-standard” font families.
The latter is a quibble for some, important to others.
The difference between the two “views’ is due to the non-standard way that IE handles some CSS attributes. COmbined with a table and it can create problems.
