Funny, what Google does with your TXP-site!
hi all!
I started to use Google-Search on my website and I realized that the longer people search articles via Google, the more Google refers to the article index than to the pretty url-style I have chosen.
E.g. instead of referring to http://michaelsremarks.org/2006/05/24/ramona-dixon, Google refers to http://michaelsremarks.org/index.php?id=534, you can check by yourself!
Can someone explain why? And can someone also explain why articles that used to be referred to by Google with the correct URL suddenly change into the messy-url-scheme?
Thanks!

I just vérify for my site douar.net, and link are url-style,
just a question: is your site always used an url-style or messy url and after some time you turned it to url-style?

No, my site never had messy urls. And the mentioned article has for sure never been published with a messy url!

Why don’t you (re)submit to google a sitemap of your site using sencer’s plugin? It might sort out the urls

It’s possible that someone linked to it using the messy url rather than your clean url so check all your referers.

Never had this problem. Ditto to what scross said. Perhaps someone linked to messy because they thought that url had less chance of breaking?

A while ago I found my site in Google search results with a rather strange url, and I got this explanation.
