Alphabetical Category Listing

Hi,

I’m wondering how I might implement the following in TXP. I’ve looked around for some help but so far havn’t had much luck.

I’d like to organise a site by category rather then by chronological order. The front page will function more like an index which shows the letter “A” and then all categories that begin with “A”, and so on for each letter.

EG:
<b>A</b>
Apples

<b>B</b>
Big Things

<b>C</b>
Cats

and so forth.

I’ve been able to implent the list of all categories, but I just can’t figure out how to break it up in to alphabetical sections. Is there a way to do this?

I know the basics of CSS, TXP and PERL, but not much more. Perhaps there is a plugin that does this that I havn’t come across yet?
