Re: Admin Facelift. Take 3
Everything else I agree totally except “Select a theme”. It goes to the “toy”-section. At least definitely not as a default feature. One good admin layout is enough, it´s up to the person setting up/building the site if they want to change the colours.
If somebody wants to provide it as plugin, that´s fine but having it in a core would be to my opinion already too far from TXP:s simplicity.

The plugin idea is not bad actually. Wish I knew more PHP :(

@ P
I disagree. I think theme-switching is a great feature. If you don’t like it. Don’t use it.

Here’s a slight variation on your latest mockup. I always wondered why the tab metaphor was ditched on the tertiary navs. Anyway, FWIW here it is. Too many tabs? Thoughts…

I agree. Even if it’s something as simple as entering the filename of the css file to use.

Re: Admin Facelift. Take 3
Mr Dale,
I like that idea muchly! How bout we push it even further and use hanging tabs instead? I like how the line goes under the title now…
@ patchwork, Glad to see I’m not the only one into gum-flavored interfaces :)
EDIT: Due to popular demand, the red is mellowed

Don´t get me wrong, ofcourse theme-switching is an awesome feature! Just that I´d prefer seeing it as a plugin, not made into the core.

Sure, I’m down with that. Just promise me that you’ll ix-nay the ruby-red grapefruit scheme. It just burned holes in my retina. ;)

Darn, that was my favorite ;)
Looking really good, I can’t wait to take it for a spin one day.
I’d rather see changing themes part of the core, with the ability to upload new schemes if possible.

Re: Admin Facelift. Take 3
Okay, I see hgtv:s point. :D
I guess he´s thinking the feature way it is in PunBB. When installing system, you just can leave out (not upload to server amount x of additional stylesheets) if you don´t need them.
