Installing Textpattern - Getting Someone to do it

I’m really busy right now, but would like to get my site up. I’m willing to pay someone to take a few minutes and setup textpattern on my site. Any information that can help me?

What are you need? just transfering the site on your webhost on configuring it, or doing the entire site including webdesign?

I have the domain name TextProfessionals.com … and am still interested in collaborating with one or two peops in setting up a directory which lists people offering Txp-specific services (searchable by skill set, language, country, rates, availability, etc)

I think this is a great idea, nardo, and hope to see it come to fruition. There’s been talk of something like this before, I think. I would say yes to helping in an instant except I have my hands full right now. I really hope someone else takes you up on it though. If by chance my situation changes, I’ll let you know.

If you do makes steps, keep us business folks informed, please.

“Rates”? … that will be an interesting one. Seems to be the taboo, mysterious, twilight zone subject with designers.

Mary, do you mean in generall or just in the forum? here in germany at least it is not illegal to list rates.

You can’t list rates as a group comparison (as opposed to an individual listing their rates on their brochure or website) in the US or Canada, they consider it price fixing, which is illegal in those two countries. If you don’t happen to live there, it doesn’t apply to you, but you should be aware of this if you plan on making this site an international venture, as not all people are aware of this (so ask people’s country before allowing them to list their rates or something like that…).

thanks for pointing that out. I was not aware that US & Canada are so strik on this. Here in Europe you find prices for design and programming sometimes on webpages though it is not a common habit.

Well, you can list your own prices, just not in conjunction with other peoples’. Crazy, I know.
