Search Function Here is Wacked
Searches for authors always come up empty, even if you search for posts by mods.
The search results are rarely related to my query… I get better results with Google.
Apparently I’m not the only one:

I am also a member at PunBB and searched their forum for this problem and it seems no one here has alerted them to the search glitch.
Whats the word on this?

Works fine for me. You have to search for the exact username.
There are some search problems. They’re punBB issues, and we’re all just regular users when it comes to punBB.

Strange. I enter exact usernames and get zero results every time. Except when said user has his name mentioned in a thread, in which case those threads will show up, but rarely are they by the actual user.

Apparently, all you guys need to do is rebuild your search tables (Admin>Maintenance)

I only just rebuilt the search index a couple weeks ago, with little difference that I can see. But, I just rebuilt them once more. Any difference for you?

Still not working for me. So far it seems like all the admins can get results via username, but perhaps we should have some of our regular posters confirm if this works for them

All the admins have user names without spaces.
I just tried a search for posts authored by “Ace of Dubs”: zero results, by “zem”: plenty, by “net-carver”: plenty, by “wet”: same.
Might be an issue…

If you follow the “show all posts” link the user’s profile, you can find them.
No idea why the other search won’t work. As I said, I followed the suggestion to rebuild the tables, so obviously there’s something else wrong.

The search on authors with space in their names works on the PunBB forums.
Try searching for Frank H on Pun’s search form
I also tested it on some of my PunBB forums, works fine also. I tested as an admin, a regular user and a guest.
