Re: Cosmetic Surgery
- It looks much more aggressive,
- reminds me extremly of Symantec,
- I miss the lines left and right of “Textpattern”,
- for me, there’s too much height – I loved TXP for its sleek and slim attitude.
…but that does not mean that I don’t like it.

Re: Cosmetic Surgery
I’ve often said that I really like the admin facelift. So I’m happy to read this announcement :)
But I have to admit that I don’t like this giant Textpattern logo which is – in my opinion – not well proportionated and looks quite old fashioned compared to the nice looking rest of the design.

Re: Cosmetic Surgery
Have to agree with Skubidu, maybe it’s the site name which should have the stage.

Re: Cosmetic Surgery
Have to agree with Skubidu too: don’t like this giant Textpattern logo…
and in addition the yellow-orange is too ‘thick’, bright .. sigh my eyes..
Just a question: why not use a designers eye for the design? For some reason it makes sense, that we have designers AND programmers on earth ;).

Just a quick photoshoped alternative proposal to illustrate what I could imagine:

Re: Cosmetic Surgery
@skubidu
much better – though i wonder why this strong orange?
(Nils, kann man das orange nicht etwas zurückfahren? Das organge ‘frißt’ das rot von z.b. ‘My Site’ auf. )
btw. logotype should be kept

Well, I’m not sure about that :) but that’s purely a matter of taste.

Not really, its a matter of corporate branding
(though i like Nils logotype, is this Meta?)

Sure, you’re right – but from time to time there is a need of modernising things carefully.

No it’s Delicious that can be downloaded for free on the creator’s website.

Re: Cosmetic Surgery
okay, that is my suggestion. the orange-yellow is not that bright on monitors. on laptops it might be too light??
<img src=“http://textpattern.kbbu.de/workgroup/draft_head_txp.jpg” />
in fact i would reduce the height of the top bar cuz it is not necessary to have it that heigh, waste of space for no reason.
second: i would not introduce another color (like the blue) instead i would stick to the ones currently already in use in txp´s admin area. btw. the blue does not fit really.
Font: i did use delicious, but the SmallCap Version jsut for a try.
